Go Spurs Go!

On Thursday night Brad and I were able to go to the Spurs vs. Hornets game 6. Brad got the tickets from work and they were pretty good seats, but they also came with tickets to a suite box with free food and drinks. The game was fun, but the free food was my favorite part. The Spurs won much to Brad's dismay. He is not a fan of Spurs fans and so therefore roots against them in almost all games. Brad was one of maybe 2 Hornets fans in the whole arena. My cousin Kim was up from Rockport and her and her friend Krystin watched Brooklyn for us. We came home to a sleeping Brooklyn which I think is a first. Thanks Kim! We had a great time and it was so fun to go out on a weeknight. I forgot my camera so I took a picture of the two of us at home and our tickets. Oh well.

Weather

I love rain and storms, but I am petrified of lightning and the possibility of a tornado. So this is what happened this morning. We woke up to a very large thunderstorm and I looked online (using my handy ipod, thanks Mom) and didn't see a tornado watch right away and I was pretty calm. Then the hail that I thought was going to break my windows started. Holy cow, did anyone not hear that this morning. I mean I literally thought a window was going to break. I was still fairly calm. Then I turned on the tv and saw that we were in a tornado watch and then our house almost got struck by lightning. I know most of you are not terrified of this weather, but growing up in the west where there really is no weather but hot. It terrifies me. I have high hopes to do better this season and get more sleep we will see how it goes. This morning I was woken up at 4:30 and haven't gone back to sleep yet. I know neurotic, right?

Wednesday: The New Saturday

Since the middle of April Brad has been working a new schedule. He now has to work every other saturday instead of every 4th to 5th Saturday. We were really disappointed with this change, but it has turned out to be a blessing in disguise. On the weeks that Brad works Saturday he gets Wednesday off. The benefits of having Wed off are starting to add up. Today we went to the Guadalupe River State Park, had a picnic lunch and played in the river. The benefits to a Wednesday is that it was empty. I am sure it is packed on Sat, but today it was fantastic. We are hoping this holds true this summer that places are not quite as busy on Wed as on Sat and that we will be able to enjoy Sea World, the river and fun summer places without as much of a crowd. I am now looking forward to the weeks that Brad works Saturday. Here are some pictures from the river today. Brooklyn was a little weary at first, but after a while she fell in love with it. She didn't want to leave and loved just sitting in the water playing with the rocks.
