Scrapbooking

So I am sooo behind in my scrapbooking. I made it through Brooklyn's first year and then all my scrapbooking buddies moved away. Needless to say, I needed their motivation. Thanks to my wonderful friend Tracie I was able to figure out how to digital scrapbook and I am loving it. Here are a few pages I have finished.

Shorty Got Low, Low, Low....

This a post for the memories.

The other day we went to the University Mall (aka ghetto mall) to pick up something they only had at this mall. In seeing a movie at this mall last week, we had vowed never to return especially after dark. Unfortunately, the vow had to be broken but it was and only will be broken under very extenuating circumstances.

Upon walking into the mall we were given a one of a kind ghetto show. There was a ghetto blasting car "hoppin" along our parking aisle. He rolled down his window and yelled to the hood rat girl next to it something and the next thing we know... "She hit the floor... She turned around and gave that big booty a smack" to the tune of Shorty got low, low, low, low, low, low, low, low. She actually put her hand on the ground turned her head toward the car and shook her big old booty in the air.

For a second, we were glad we broke the vow.

The Wisdom of a Three Year Old

So there have been a lot of funny things that Brooklyn has said and done over the past few months, but here are just a few.

This is the conversation that Brooklyn and I had yesterday as we were leaving Costco.
Brooklyn: "Mommy, will you be my friend?"

Me: "Of course sweetheart, I will always be your friend."

Brooklyn: "Ok thanks, but only until baby sister comes."

Me: "I can still be your friend even after baby sister comes. I will always be your friend. Baby sister won't change that.

Brooklyn: "Mommy after baby sister comes she will be my friend and I won't need you anymore."

Me: "Well can I still be your friend too."

Brooklyn: "I guess, but baby sister will be my best friend."

I am so glad that she has no insecurities about this baby and she only sees the positive. She cannot wait for her sister to come and hasn't questioned her place once. This I'm sure will still happen some, but I am thankful for the sweet little girl that can't wait for her new best friend.

**The other funny conversation we had that I wanted to make sure and write down happened while the two of us were in Las Vegas staying at my mom's house. We were leaving to go somewhere and I accidentally locked the keys in the car with my purse and cell. No one was home, our spare key was in Texas and I had just locked the house. I looked around the street about to break down in tears (at this time I was pregnant without my husband and generally in a pretty foul mood). We tried all the doors in the house and then we went and used a neighbor's phone. This is the conversation we had while we were waiting for my sister to come over and at least bring a phone.

Brooklyn: "Mommy, come here (patting a large chair shaped rock), sit down and lets have a talk.

Me: "Ok, what do you want to talk about?"

Brooklyn: "Mommy, sometimes bad things happen, and when they do you just have to deal with it. Come on, it will all work out, you'll see." (She says this as she pats my back and gives me loves.)

Me: "You are right, thanks for the talk. It made me feel better."

A few minutes later, Brooklyn runs up to me sitting waiting for my sister....

Brooklyn: "Mommy, I know what we can do! We can make a wish for help. I just know it will come true."

Me: "Ok, we can try, but I don't know how long it will take to come true."

Brooklyn: "Oh, I just know it will come true. I wish that we can get in our car."

As soon as she finished her "wish" my sister and her husband showed up.

Brooklyn: "See, I told ya."

She is such a sweet little girl and I am so thankful to be able to spend so much time with her. I even enjoyed the two months without Brad because I know there will be a new little person around soon and not so much one on one time with Brooklyn. We are so blessed to have such a unique, optimistic and loving little person in our house.

Any Suggestions???

So in case you didn't know, we are having a girl. We are also having a very difficult time coming up with a name. If anyone still reads this, we would love any suggestions you may have.
