Brooklynism

Brooklyn has started to say some really funny things. Here are two of my favorites from the last few days.

The other day Brad was putting Brooklyn down for her nap and the sun was behind a cloud. It came out from behind the cloud and when it lit her room up she said, "Daddy, turn the sun off?" A few seconds later it went back behind the cloud and she said "Daddy, turn the sun on?"

The second happens to take place while she was watching Little Einsteins. Brooklyn was sitting on the couch watching her show between the two of us. We were carrying on a conversation over her, no big deal, she is 2 right? Wrong! She said, "No, no, no, no, no... No talking please!" We said we were so sorry and left the room. She thanked us.

Happy Father's Day

I just wanted to take a minute and wish Brad a happy father's day. I know it is late, but don't worry he was well taken care of on father's day. Brad is such a great daddy it at least deserves a mention on the blog. Brooklyn adores "daffy" (as she has now taken to calling him). She gets so excited when daddy comes home and she can't wait to see him. Lately he has been getting home around the time she gets up from her nap and today I got off the phone with Brad right before her nap and she said "daddy on his way home?" He can never get enough time with his little girl. His favorite thing to do is just watch her play and interact with other people. Brad is always so interested in what she is going to do and how her little mind works. You can always see the love in his eyes for his "Brooklyn bear". Happy Father's Day Brad.

I didn't take any pictures of them on father's day, but here are some of my favorites of the two of them together.

Sea World

On Friday we went to Sea World for the first time this season and Brooklyn loved it! It was so fun to see her so excited. We brought our stuff to go to the water park and never made it because she loved the animals so much. We probably spent a full hour at the dolphin tank. We fed the dolphins and the sea lions. Watched Viva and the Shamu show Believe. She rode the kiddie rides and kept saying "that fun". She loved it all and was very disappointed to leave. We promised her we would go back when her cousins Zach and Seth came to visit. She has been talking about it ever since.

What Disney Princess is Brad?

So on my cousin Melissa's blog she tooka quiz to see what Disney Princess she was. I asked Brad to take a quiz to see what Disney Princess he thought I was. Instead of doing it for me, he took the quiz for himself. Brad is most like Belle for any of those of you who are wondering.

Intelligent and kind. Your beauty goes much further than your apperance. Also, you make judgements of people based on their personality and not their looks. Attaining all the knowledge that you can is one of your major goals in life, but you are also a person who can make things happen.

Which Disney Princess Are You?

He did finally take it for me, and he got Cinderella. When I took it, I was most like Jasmine.

Dignified and hard working. With a gentle and soft-spoken manner you have something many people don't. Patience. Even through the moments of heartbreak you're still able to hold onto all of your hopes and dreams. Bide your time; your dream will come true.

Texas Safari

Last weekend we were looking for something to do as a family. We decided on the Texas Safari and the Wildlife Ranch. It was a great time, but animals are soooo gross! I didn't know how Brooklyn would like it. In the past if the animals got too close she would freak out, but she loved it. She got to sit on my lap as we drove 4 mph around the park. The animals came right up to the car to try and get the food. We were not so brave. We sprinkled food outside the car and then hurried and rolled up our window. I learned from my friend Becca if you are not careful the animals might just come in your car and give you a kiss. Watching them I am sure that we would have had an ostrich in our car if it weren't for the windows.
There were lots of long horned sheep, zebras, ostriches, deer, camels, giraffes, and all other sorts of animals. The zebras were right next to the window and the ostriches were all over the car. They kept pecking at the windows trying to get more food. The video shows them pecking the window. Sorry it is a little long, but if you hand in there you can hear the pecking.

Look at that attitude! I think we are in trouble.

To Grandmother's House We Go

Brooklyn and I went to Las Vegas a few weeks ago to visit my mom for her 60th birthday. I had to work while we were there so it was busy, but lots of fun. Brooklyn loved all the attention from everyone. She especially loves grandma and grandpa. While there we visited with family, went shopping, lost a lot of sleep, and had a birthday party for my mom. Thanks for the trip and a great time mom!
Happy Birthday!!!!!!!
